IxAtom is looking for a Research Engineer in Experimental Development

Location: LP2N, Talence (Bordeaux area, France)

Education: Research engineer in experimental development

Experience: > 2 y

In which context?

iXatom is a joint research laboratory between the Laboratoire de Photonique Numérique et Nanosciences of the Institut d'Optique d'Aquitaine (LP2N), specialized in new techniques for atom interferometry, and Exail, an industrial leader in photonics, inertial navigation and quantum sensors.

In this unique environment at the frontier between fundamental research and applications, we are studying next-generation quantum inertial sensors, particularly for embedded environments. By hybridizing classical sensors and the atomic interferometer, it is possible to improve the performance of inertial navigation systems by more than an order of magnitude compared with existing technologies.

Your role

The research engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of embedded atomic sensors for the iXAtom joint laboratory in partnership with Exail, including in particular the development of multi-axis sensors from the demonstration of embeddability to miniaturization. These activities were supported by PEPR QAFCA and the New Aquitaine innovation hub Naquidis.
